I first became interested in photography many years ago, I was taking pictures on compact cameras from when I was a child and got my first DSLR camera in 2008. I have always been the one behind the camera rather than in front of it and I have always loved being able to capture special moments from the "outside looking in"

Up until 2013, I was self taught and had just picked up little tips and tricks along the way, learning what came out well and what didn't mostly by trial and error. I decided in 2013 to enrol with the New York Institute of Photography to undertake formal photography training which vastly improved my photography. This allowed me to get the most out of not only my upgraded DSLR camera but also allowed me to utilise my own abilities to a much greater and more detailed level.

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the course and felt that I was taking photographs at a much more advanced level, I continued to pursue photography as only a hobby and occasionally, photographing events for family and friends.

 

My wife and I have 5 beautiful children who have, on many occasions, been the subjects of location shoots to test the lighting or setting or sometimes "just because". They've certainly given me some great insight into how to get the best out of people when taking photographs.

Now, in 2019, I have taken the plunge and decided to pursue photography professionally as I am so passionate about good photography and I cant think of anything I would enjoy more, or that would feel less like "work"!
